FEATURED PROJECT
The summer issue of Solar Today magazine has a large focus on how COVID-19 is affecting the solar industry. We wanted a cover shot to relate to the pandemic but also to pay respect to the Black Live Matter protests. The chosen photo was the perfect combination of subject and color. We tweaked the hoodie from red to orange to tie-in with the brand colors.
LET’S TALK DESIGN
The color gray is an unemotional color. It is detached, neutral, and impartial, but also mature, intelligent, and calming. It works well as a supporting color since it can be toned to match almost any color, allowing primary colors and/or elements to shine. Popular uses of gray in websites are backgrounds and headers and footers.
COOL STUFF
Mask requirement due to COVID-19 is most likely going to continue throughout the year. Choose an eco-friendly mask that is washable instead of adding to landfills. You can take it another step further and support local artists from Etsy. The ones pictured here ship the same day if ordered before 4 pm PST and are made of a lightweight, breathable cotton blend in six neutral colors. Buy here
FOR YOUR HEALTH
It has been around three months of quarantine for many of us. The urge to get out and enjoy the summer is real. But what’s safe? NPR asked a panel of infectious disease and public health experts to rate the risk of summer activities, from backyard gatherings to a day at the pool to sharing a vacation house with another household. Click here to read how experts rate the risks of 14 summer activities.
MUSIC WE LOVE
Last month, Dutch producer @barilmusic released his debut EP One More Rush. The release featured six dreamy, lo-fi sounding works. He had this to say about his work, “When I started producing music I also started releasing things pretty quickly. That was cool and I don’t regret it. However, over the years, my taste in music has changed and I feel that I only recently have found my real sound.” Listen here
